Hi, I’m Alexa-Ray Leslie, born and raised in San Pedro, Belize. I’ve had the privilege of growing up alongside the island, watching it evolve over the years while remaining closely connected to the people, places, and experiences that make it feel like home.

Growing up with a Belizean father and a Canadian mother meant being raised between two cultures. It gave me deep roots in San Pedro while also allowing me to see the island from a broader perspective. Over time, I learned how to connect with people from different backgrounds and understand both the familiarity of home and the excitement of experiencing somewhere new.

My mom made travel an important part of my upbringing. She worked hard to ensure that growing up on an island never limited how much of the world we experienced. In my early twenties, I carried that love of travel with me as I spent three months traveling solo through Europe. That experience deepened my appreciation for discovering new places and showed me how meaningful it is to feel welcomed and well cared for when you are far from home.

My connection to tourism began at an early age through my parents’ tour company. As I got older, I spent time working on fishing charters with my dad before building my own career in hospitality, where I worked my way from the front desk of a hostel into resort management.

Guided by my faith and a genuine desire to serve others, I created Born and Raised Belize as a more personal and thoughtful way to experience the island. Through trusted local partners, I help curate each visit around the guest’s interests, pace, and travel style while taking care of the details behind the scenes. My goal is to help you feel welcomed, connected, and free to enjoy everything that makes San Pedro special.
